Freeformers and Facebook are working with various in-country partners and NGOs in six countries across Europe (Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, UK) to bring the Digital Skills Training Programme to 75,000 18-30 year olds.
The Digital Skills Training Programme are highly engaging face-to-face events, comprised of a series of workshops, that are designed to help young people build their digital confidence and skills that will help their future careers.
This programme focuses on enabling people to develop the confidence & skills they need to be employable in a digital economy - the same skills that employers across Europe have identified as lacking in the current workforce.

According to the European Commission, 40% of companies across Europe are now experiencing skills shortages. Additionally, only 57% of European university and school leavers are confident that their education has armed them with the right skills for their future careers.
The Digital Skills Training Programme offers training in six areas:
This programme is underpinned by the Freeformers Future Workforce Model. Developed by Freeformers with support from the EDUCATE team at University College London, the model is based on primary research (from clients and learners), and extensive secondary research.
The model seeks to understand what employers want, what citizens need and bridge any gaps between the two. Accompanying each attribute in the model is learning material and question sets to allow learners to measure their progress as they move through the programme. This builds confidence in participants so that they can transition from “learning to earning.”
Understand the impact of the European skills gap by accessing our 2018/19 research publications
This study quantitatively maps the supply of skills amongst school and university leavers, collecting representative samples of 1,000 in each of the six European countries with a view to answering important questions such as what skills they have on leaving school/college.

Through in-depth interviews with senior stakeholders in 18 organisations across six countries and multiple industries, gain insight into the issues, as they are being experienced on the ground and what you can do about it.
